Fairground Art
Goff is a member of the iconic Danter Funfair Family, a traditional fairground family dating back to the late 19th century. He uses references to funfairs to illustrate his ideas and the times in which he grew up in the 1960's.
As a narrative artist Goff paints a story from his recollections and memories which demonstrate the atmosphere, sights and sounds - the real heart of the fair.
Over the years Goff completed a number of paintings which were complex but brightly coloured and captured the atmosphere, lights and fun of the fair. Private collectors were thrilled with this new vibrant work.
This fairground art prompted the visit by David Essex to the gallery in usk where Goff was exhibiting his latest fairground painting and a number of limited edition prints. David was performing in his musical 'All The Fun of The Fair' in Cardiff.
